Today, we're looking at the work (for task2) of our classmates. Many of the visual displays are very attractive and interesting.
When being asked to choose the best display, I had a query in my mind -- what's the function of the visual display? In case the design is for "promotion purpose" (like a poster to invite people to attend a seminar on the Earth's atmosphere), colorful graphics are preferred and long description of words may not be appropriate.
By the way, people have to use their own imagination to produce and understand a visual display. The learner may not make correct guess to each picture if text is missing. In case the design is for teaching, text description should not be omitted (but it's better in point form) for factual info which should have only one "right" answer.

Yes, I think there are two things which are important for visual design. the first thing is how to convert complex idea into a visual way. And the second thing is how to ensure that most people interpreted the visual design in the same way.
